EUROPORTFOLIO final report

Dear Europortfolio community members, dear Portal contributors,

As you are probably aware, Europortfolio started as a Lifelong Learning project and has been funded with support from the European Commission. We started at the beginning of 2013 and finalized the project by the end of 2015. The project ended, but the portal and the community of ePortfolio experts and practitioners communicating here remain alive and vivid.

Just to remind you that our aim has been to contribute to the realisation of a European area for lifelong learning, using ePortfolios as a means to support reflective learning and practice as well as transparency and trust across all the actors involved in education and employment. This was achieved by bringing together the community of European ePortfolio experts and practitioners and developing a Learning Community Portal as a space to publish, share and review data and resources on ePortfolio practices and technologies.

So far the Europortfolio community has grown to over 600 registered members from 112 countries. The state-of-the-art Europortfolio Learning Portal available at www.europortfolio.org or www.eportfolio.eu is regularly updated with articles, news, inventory of ePortfolio practices and initiatives, etc. National chapters in 9 different EU countries (Austria, Croatia, France, Germany, Poland, Nordic countries, Spain, Switzerland and the UK) have been established with country specific initiatives and activities. The Portal itself offers a variety of services such as managing online events like webinars, including registrations for those events, newsletter production, the publication of different kinds of information, etc.

Over the past three years the Portal has received several facelifts thanks to feedback from registered users, and now offers a range of new collaboration services for the Europortfolio community. In addition to online collaboration on the Portal, Europortfolio has organised face2face workshops and events enabling community members to meet in person, i.e. Barcelona seminar in 2014, workshop at OEB 2014, International Research Seminar in Plymouth, UK, 2015, ePIC 2015, workshop at EADTU 2015 and many others. The community has also actively been involved in the development of the ePortfolio Maturity Matrix, ePortfolio implementation guidelines and Open Educational Resources. All these are disseminated through the Europortfolio Learning Portal.

In order to ensure the sustainability of the Europortfolio network and the further exploitation of results, consortium members have formally committed themselves to
participate in and contribute to the further development and maintenance of the Europortfolio network which involves maintaining this Portal.

We are happy to share with you the public part of our final report and hope you will keep sharing your information and ideas with us!
