I am an educator who carried out most of my initial research work in the field of international education and development education. I focused on social studies textbooks and how they portray the “Third World”. A book, “The global school”, was issued in 1994.
My second field of interest: research in comparative education has dealt with issues in education relating to the Southern Africa, but also in a Nordic and Northern European context. My most recent research is in the area of distance education and the history of education.
I have been a member of the board of the Nordic Association of Educational Research, and I directed a Centre for Media education at the college for some years.
I am in charge of training newly employed colleagues in methods of teaching and learning. I addition, I edit two journal: one e-journal called Seminar.net
